North Cobb Christian School Summer Camps
Drivers Education Program
For Co-Ed: 15 years old (Drivers Permit required to take 6 hours in-car training)
Instructor: Safe America Foundation Certified Driving Instructors
We will be scheduling Driver's Ed classes for the Spring and Summer of 2012. Please continue to check back for information about signing up for a class.
(three 2-hour individual in-car training sessions will be scheduled after completion of 30 class hours)
All Safe America driver education courses are licensed by the State of Georgia Department of Driver Services. Each student will attend 30 hours of classroom training, which includes the State-required Alcohol and Drug Awareness (ADAP) training. Students will also complete 6 hours of private, individual behind-the-wheel training with a licensed driver-training instructor. The behind-the-wheel training is performed in individually scheduled 2-hour increments which must occur within the 6 months following the classroom training. This is scheduled after completion of classroom instruction.
The 30/6 training package satisfies the state requirement for full driver education programs and graduates of the program are eligible for a 10% reduction in insurance premiums to drivers under 25 years of age, if otherwise qualified; and parents are eligible for a $150 Georgia Income Tax Credit.
